This project is a continuation of Beautiful Death, because it’s also a search for a more optimistic view of passing away, but it’s focusing specifically on fear of death, on the fear of becoming nothing. Although the nothing and the everything are the same, however in different stages, the nothing is the end of all creation and the beginning of everything.
I reproduce this reflexion through a small lemon seed sprouting, because, when people think about this fruit, the seed is usually forgotten, as if it didn’t existed, yet it creates the lemon, it’s the nothing and the everything simultaneously. The idea of creation is also present in the hypocotyl sprouting from the seed, alluding to the union of male and female genitals, just as in the existence of two pieces that in their union create a third. It’s a continuous process of fertile electroplating between small nothings that forms everything.
